1. John MacLeod
John MacLeod was believed to have lived on the northeast coast of the Isle of Skye either in Portree or in the area to the north towards Kilmalaug.
This MacLeod family genealogy was started as a result of a visit in August 1958 between Earl Leslie MacLeod and his first cousin Catherine MacLeod, wife of Angus Bruce MacLeod, during which they discussed the MacLeod family tree. At the time Catherine was visiting her daughter Heather (MacLeod) Gillies in Vancouver BC from her home in California. Following this meeting, Heather put together the first draft of a family tree which then formed the basis of continuing genealogy research by Earl MacLeod until his death in 1987. His work was recorded in 33 pages of hand printed charts. Subsequent research was undertaken after 1987 by his son, John Mackechnie MacLeod, 2020 West 35th Ave., Vancouver BC, V6M 1H9, jmacleod2020@shaw.ca and includes information from:
-BC Archives Birth/Marriage/Death Indexes
-Information provided by other sources in "The MacLeod's of PEI" by Harold S MacLeod for "The Family of John MacLeod of the Isle of Skye"
